Delivery without commission: taking orders through your own link

Delivery apps are useful: people who had never heard of you find you there. But they take a cut of every order, even from a customer who has known you for years and simply got used to ordering through the app.

Two kinds of orders

  • New customers found you in the app. There, the cut is the price of advertising.
  • Regulars already know you. For them the app is just a way to order, and the cut is an extra cost.

The goal isn't to drop the apps. It's to give your regulars an easy way to order from you directly.

What you need for your own orders

  • A menu at a link, with photos, prices and an “Order” button, that opens on a phone without installing anything.
  • Order taking on a screen or in Telegram, so no order gets lost.
  • Delivery by your own couriers or a delivery service.
  • Payment in cash, by card to the courier, or online through your bank.

Where to put the link

  • In your Instagram bio and story highlights.
  • On your Google Maps listing, in the “Order” or “Menu” field.
  • On a small card with a QR code in the delivery bag: “Next time, order directly from us”.
  • In chats with customers, instead of taking orders by hand on Instagram or WhatsApp.

Giving customers a reason to order directly

The difference has to be visible to the customer: a small gift with direct orders, free delivery above a certain amount, or a loyalty program where every Nth order is on the house. The cut you save can pay for it.
